We are so stoked to host Rose Wilde on tour for her debut cookbook Bread and Roses: 100+ Grain-Forward Recipes Featuring Global Ingredients and Botanicals. Bon Appétit has named her book one of The 23 Best Cookbooks of Fall 2023 on account of its approach to grains and freshly stone-milled flours as centerpieces of flavor and terroir in every bake. Rose, we couldn't agree more!

Rose Wilde is the pastry chef and owner of Red Bread in Los Angeles, a microbakery that has empowered the cottage bakery movement with impactful flavors, outstanding quality, and a commitment to sustainability and local food ecosystems since 2011. Bread and Roses is Wilde's first published collection of recipes, and features classics like oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies, as well as new and inventive specialties like Quinoa Upside-Down Cake with Pineapple & Candied Hibiscus - or how about Einkorn Blondies with Brown Butter Dates? This book is an incredible download on flavor, but also goes in-depth on the history of grain consumption and agriculture, how to set yourself up for success in the kitchen, and why you should make friends with farmers 🤠. As the name suggests, whole grains and botanical ingredients are in the forefront of Rose's recipes, and she's organized the book into regional sections that place the grains used in their native environments. Trust us, you don't want to miss this book.

Demo + Wilde Tasting: Learn directly from Rose about eating "root to blossom," how heirloom grains and stone-milled flour make a difference and why you should care, and develop your ability to identify unique flavors and uses for single-varietal flours and grains. Enjoy a casual hang at the mill with Rose as she explains her core philosophies and techniques, and demos selected recipes from Bread and Roses featuring BSM flours. These recipes have been expertly curated by Rose and the BSM team, and will showcase a range of flavors and BSM grains in Rose's signature "not too sweet" style. To top it all off, enjoy a mill tour from the BSM education team and an exclusive 15% discount on flour and grain purchases. In-house purchases are card / tap-to-pay only (cashless!).

This event starts promptly at 11A and concludes by 1:30P. Includes a signed copy of Bread and Roses. Seats limited.

Book Signing Meet & Greet + BSM Open House: Pre-order a copy of Bread and Roses, and swing by the mill between 1:45P and 3P to get it signed, meet Rose Wilde, and shop our full range of organic grain and freshly stone-milled flours. This is a free-flow, open-house event, so come any time and stay as long as you like. Shop exclusive BSM holiday bundles, and ask Rose and the BSM staff all your baking and grain questions! In-house purchases are card / tap-to-pay only (cashless!).

This ticket type ensures you receive a signed copy of Bread and Roses. Supplies limited.

NOTE: Class 15% discount on flour purchases ONLY APPLIES TO DEMO + WILDE TASTING TICKET PURCHASES. BSM Open House will NOT include a 15% discount on flour purchases.
