In this class with Ashley, you’ll dive into what makes our flours unique through a fun pancake making and tasting experience. Pancakes are one of the most accessible ways to experience the variety of tastes and aromas that our grains have to offer. If you are unsure of where to start with freshly milled flours, or want to experiment with how flavor pairings accentuate the unique characteristics of our exclusive grain varietals, then this class is for you! Ashley will walk you through a basic pancake recipe, you'll make pancakes, you'll taste pancakes, you'll discuss flours, you'll have a blast!
This class is all-levels - beginners are welcome! This class is BYOB for participants 21+, so bring your favorite beverage (might we suggest a brunchy mimosa? We'll supply the OJ!) We ask that all class participants are 13 and up.
Things to look forward to:
- Learn the difference between stone-milled and store-bought flours
- Have an opportunity to work with our own fresh flours, stone-milled right here at Barton Springs Mill
- Pancake Toppings Bar! Syrup! Jams! Butter!
- Coffee & Juices (a.k.a. mimosa accoutrements)
- Tour the mill
- Leave a more confident baker ready to experiment in your home kitchen
- Purchase BSM products at a special one-time discount
