I PURCHASED CORNMEAL AND FLOUR TO MAKE CORNBREAD. AS A NATIVE TEXAN I MAKE A PAN OF CORNBREAD WEEKLY. I EVEN ENJOY A SLICE WITH MY EGGS FOR BREAKFAST. MY GRANDMA USED TO MAKE HOT WATER CORNBREAD FRIED IN AN IRON SKILLET WITH HOMEGROWN GREENS, BUTTERBEANS AND FRIED OKRA.
IT OCCURED TO ME THAT TEXAS GROWS EVERYTHING (ALMOST) SO I SHOULD BUY PRODUCTS FROM MY HOME STATE.
THE CORNBREAD TURNED OUT VERY TASTY AND MUCH BETTER THAN WITH THE STORE BOUGHT INGREDIENTS.
IN FACT THE MILL IS JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS FROM MY HOME. MY ORDER WAS FILLED AND DELIVERED QUICKLY WITHOUT INCIDENT.
For years I’ve ordered my grits from South Carolina. No more! These were tasty and creamy but curse enough to have some texture. Love!
Delicious & satisfying with sweetness
The Hickory White King corn was the perfect corn to nixtamalize and make homemade corn tortillas. The flavor was so sweet and pronounced. I also bought your Oaxaca Green corn and will try that variety to make my next batch of masa. Thanks Barton Springs Mill for bringing such quality ancient grains to the Austin area.
