This 19th century bread flour was the favorite of French bakers for generations. Breads from Rouge de Bordeaux have a rich, nutty flavor with aromas of cinnamon and baking spice. It can be used as bread flour in any recipe.

    Feels Like Receiving a Gift

    I actually buy the wheat berries and mill them with my little mock mill. Children love eating the bread I make. No sugar or honey, just bread flour, freshly ground wheat berries, water and salt. I’m guessing it is the Rouge de Bordeaux wheat berries that make the magic. After a brief time they were out of stock, receiving my last order felt like a gift. Thank you.

    First time rye user

    Nothing to compare to but this worked very well. Used King Arthur recipe that included pickle juice. Won’t do that again. Pickle flavor dominated. Looking forward to next attempt at rye sandwich bread
