Come join us at the mill for this Texas ingredient-centric pie workshop! Whether you're looking to shake up your pecan pie routine with a new recipe, or are brand new to the art of pie, this class is a great way to improve your skill set, and eat delicious pie while you're at it.

For this class, Katya will be teaching you her signature Bourbon Pecan Pie recipe. Featuring Barton Springs Mill's Texas-grown rye, San Saba pecans, Texas Bourbon Whiskey, and a succulent vanilla bean caramel, this pie highlights Texas flavor at its finest. You will learn how to make a shortcrust-style pie shell that holds its own in concert with the filling. You'll learn how to choose the type of Texas pecans that suit your pie best (yes, just like wheat, there are different varietals of pecans!), and how to make their flavor shine. (Read more about the Texas Pecans' story here!) You'll get to experience the aroma and flavor of Texas Bourbon, which lends depth and spice to this recipe. And, to top it all off, you'll learn some basic sugarwork technique by making your own vanilla caramel from scratch for your filling.

You'll leave class with all of the components, from crust to custard, to bake your pie at home at the time of your choosing - but not before we all enjoy a slice (or two) of this pie masterpiece.

BYOB is fine by us for participants 21+ 🥂

We hope you come to this class to learn more about the art of pie from Katya, and gain a deeper appreciation for regional Texas ingredients from grain to pecan.
