Grab your friend, lover, neighbor, secret crush, mama, papa... and make some dumplings with us!
Katya Lyukum is coming to the mill to share her dumpling knowledge with YOU! As a Ukrainian native, Katya has extensive knowledge of this dish as well as a comprehensive culinary & teaching background, so expect to learn a lot about this culinary specialty! In this class, you will learn how to make, shape, and fill traditional varenyky. Traditionally, these dumplings are stuffed with vegan and vegetarian fillings and often served with a tart cherry or berry sauce. In Katya's words, dumplings "can be an ultimate breakfast or an appetizer, a main dish, a small plate, or a dessert enjoyed any time of the day." Katya will walk you through how to use varietals of our stone-milled flours to make the most tender dumplings! You will also get to taste several varieties of traditional Ukrainian fillings for ultimate sweet and savory satisfaction.
This class is BYOB for participants 21+, so bring a special ferment if you so please for ultimate Friday fun! We ask that all class participants are 13+.
Beginners are welcome, and encouraged to attend.
