A Galette des Rois originates from northern France, celebrating the Epiphany– a feast commemorating the arrival of the Three Kings to the manger where Jesus was born, marking the beginning of the Mardi Gras season. This traditional galette dates back to the 14th century and consists of a crispy puff pastry galette filled with a smooth frangipane filling.
Students will have the opportunity to test their lamination skill by making their own puff pastry, filling and baking their galette with a rich and nutty citrus-pecan frangipane. They will observe a laminating demonstration that will highlight several techniques. Each couple will have a freshly baked galette des rois to take home to enjoy during the festive season.
Beginners are welcome, and encouraged to attend!

Touring our facility requires that all participants adhere to health guidelines - all touring participants (included in ticket) will be required wear a hair net that effectively restraints all hair, including mustaches, goatees, and any other facial hair. Close-toed shoes and shirts that cover the underarms and shoulders are required for entering any part of our facility, per health code. No exceptions.
In keeping with the low COVID risk level in Travis County, masks are optional and up to personal discretion for this class.
