In this class you will learn to make a Garden Focaccia - a delicious, fluffy bread with a scene of veggies on top. It’s the perfect introduction to bread - great for gifting, a party display, or just enjoying at home!
Focaccia is a traditional, airy, light Italian bread, dimpled and baked in a pan with olive oil. Our version plays with these basic elements but incorporates freshly milled BSM flours and a variety of veggies. We will learn a great basic Fluffy Focaccia recipe that can be adapted as you learn and grow in your bread baking skills.
Together, we will learn about mixing bread, prepping vegetables, and the art of baking a bread worthy of presentation!
BYOB is fine by us for participants 21+ 🥂
Things to look forward to:
A little bit about your instructors, Savita Bhat and Bria Jones of Future Bakery Cooperative:
Savita and Bria are bakers that met while working in pastry in New York City before both returning home to Texas. Together, they founded Future Bakery Cooperative and love working with the freshly milled flour from Barton Springs Mill. They are excited to bring delicious, accessible, and flavorful baked goods to Austin through their bakery and are excited to share this beloved focaccia recipe with you all!
Future Bakery Cooperative is a group of Austin bakers who are opening their dream worker-owned cooperative bakery. They come from different backgrounds and a wide range of skills and are now united with a common goal-- to create a space for bakers by bakers.
