Just in time for one of our favorite holidays - Pie Day (March 14 or 3.14...), just one week from this class!

Our education director Frida LOVES making pies and will be showing you a fool-proof pie dough that is perfect for any application - sweet, savory, hand pies, and more! You will learn how to mix, roll, and shape pie dough and the secrets to the flakiest, most tender, but sturdy pie crust.

In class we'll be making savory hand pies and a fruit pie! You'll get to snack on some pies so you can see and taste what you will be getting your hands into.

Starting her baking journey in her own home kitchen to baking in one of the best bakeries in the city, she has put together a class that is perfect for all bakers. You will learn technique, the why, and also fun variations that are accessible for anyone!

    Things to look forward to:
    • Have an opportunity to work with our own fresh flours, stone-milled right here at Barton Springs Mill
    • Learn how to make flaky pie dough and different ways to use it!
    • Take home a handful of savory hand pies and fruit pie!
    • Tour the mill
    • Purchase BSM products at an exclusive 15% discount

BYOB is fine by us for participants 21+ 🥂

    About your Instructors:
Frida, our head Education Director, has spent the past 9 years refining and improving her techniques, skills, and recipes from her beginnings as a home baker to her professional experience as the former bread-head of Sour Duck, as well as working at various other places around Austin. She has worked with Barton Springs Mill flour from the start, and can (and will) nerd out with you about flour. She is so excited to welcome you to this class and share her wealth of knowledge with you.
