Barton Springs wheat bran is a flour and not a true wheat bran. This is because the bran has been stoned ground into a flour. Barton Springs "Wheat Bran" is fully a flour which is not as an effective fiber supplement as true bran. When I was finished with this flour tabled as bran, I sought out true bran from another source. Bran is bran. Stone grinding changes that.

    Great quality flours

I haven’t used all the different flours that I ordered, but the Mediterranean Wheat and the Sonoran flours performed beautifully in my sourdough breads.

    EXCELLENT PRODUCT with undknown uses

I do not use wheat bran for baking but rather to ensure my gut is healthy; I have used about 3 tablespoons a day since 1985, adding to my cereal, or just mixing it with water. The product from Barton is so pure it has no impact on other tastes.

The concept came on advice from an MD when I queried, “How can avoid colon cancer like my father?"
