    BSM has partnered with Oklahoma State University's Dr. Brett Carver and Bob Baker of 4 Generations Farm, Alva, Oklahoma, to bring you Heartwell - a modern purple wheat developed from the crossing of Big Country (a former BSM customer favorite) and Smith's Gold. Additionally, Heartwell has a strong, rich flavor profile and aroma, with baking properties that match or exceed Butler's Gold! While supplies last.

    Remember! You don’t need a special recipe… you can use stone-milled flours in any recipe. If you find the outcome a bit dry, don't be afraid to increase the liquid in your recipe. Our flours are thirsty!

      Wonderful flavor!

      I love the color purple!, and the fact that this wheat has higher antioxidants, so I had to try it. I did blend it in two different bakes with an all purpose unbleached white, and the other was a fresh milled soft white berry I had at home. I made sourdough pan loaves with my own starter and I can honestly say this is a very delicious, flavorful wheat. It acts in color like dark rye but my crumb was tender and open with great oven spring. I only purchased the 250 GM bag and hope to buy more soon. It's a wonderful wheat! Thank you! Catherine

      This flour adds great flavor to your bread. I make
      50/50 heartwell and bread flour.
