  • All Rye, All Rye, All Rye! Kit (certified organic)

All Rye, All Rye, All Rye!

An homage to our love of Austin and our ever flavorful companion, RYE.

This kit contains an assortment of our Rye offerings in 2.5lb bags:

    • Danko Rye (or Dankowskie Nowe in Polish) was developed in 1976 by the Polish Plant Breeding Institute, Poznan, Poland. Our crop exhibits bold aromas of cocoa and baking spice, resulting in complex, earthy breads. This rye also pairs well with anything chocolate!
    • Ryman Rye, a versatile modern wheat which is a favorite amongst our wholesale partners for its delicious mild flavor and performance alongside a hard bread flour in sourdough.
    • Wrens Abruzzi Rye is a selection of the much older Italian Abruzzi rye. It was developed in 1953 in Georgia as an early winter rye with superior performance. This rye has a subtly sweeter profile than other offerings, but in no way should be excluded from savory applications. A favorite of bakers and distillers alike.

Also included: A super hip sticker and 3 beautifully printed recipe cards.

    Tasting three sourdough ryes

I love rye so ordered the set of three ryes for a sourdough taste test. I made three small loaves of sourdough, one with each rye flour. They were all great. Two tasted kind of similar to me but one was a standout for my tastes. I won't tell you which so you can decide which you like best or all of them. YUM!

    Delicious!

My sourdough starter has never been happier. I can’t decide which variety is my favorite, but I lean toward the Danko. The deep, rich flavor is divine.
