Celebrated from October 31 through November 2, Día de los Muertos is a meaningful tradition that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed. Pan de muerto reflects the blending of Indigenous and Spanish influences and is traditionally placed on ofrendas as a welcoming offering for the spirits of loved ones believed to return during this special time.

Pan de muerto takes many regional forms and is baked and enjoyed throughout Mexico. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to make a beautifully enriched dough infused with delicious flavors, while exploring the rich symbolism behind the bread’s distinctive shapes and decorations.

BYOB is fine by us for participants 21+ 🍻

A little bit about your instructor, Nadia Rodriguez:

I received my culinary degree in 2018 and bring over 12 years of experience in the culinary industry, working across both savory and pastry disciplines. My passion for cooking began at a young age alongside my grandmother, where I first learned that food is one of the most powerful ways to share love and create connection.

My cooking is heavily inspired by Italian, Asian, and Latin cuisines, and I enjoy thoughtfully curating flavors to create dishes that feel personal, unique, and memorable. I’m passionate about sharing the knowledge I’ve gained over the years and highlighting the beauty of exceptional ingredients—like Barton Springs Mill flour—and how the care and intention we bring to them can transform food into an experience.

    Nadia was Amazing

I am very happy I attended this class. Nadia was excellent! She not only taught us how to make the delicious bread, but she also gave us tremendous knowledge about why and how the bread has been utilized culturally for Dia de los Muertos. It was also nice to meet other people and converse with them in a classroom setting.

Nadia is the best! She put so much time into making this class so fun and informative! The amount of work she put in did not go unnoticed. Bringing things from her own ofrenda and learning the background of dia de los muertos made it so special and meaningful.
My mom and I now have a new tradition. Thank you Nadia!
